The Deaf Children's Society of BC recently received new 3-year accreditation from CARF. 

CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) had this to say about DCS.

The Deaf Children's Society of BC would like to extend its deepest condolences to the family, friends, and students past and present of Grace Szakun, a dear friend and teacher, who contributed so much to the Deaf community.  She was funny, witty and wise, loved life, and gave happily and generously to all. Grace will always be remembered as a friend and great supporter of DCS.

Grace, we will carry you in our hearts forever.

I very rarely go to movie theatres, mostly because Rear Window captioning isn't that great.  Foreign movies, with subtitles, are much easier to view, but I don't always have the time to search for where these are being shown.

In a recent conversation with a friend, she mentioned that open captioned films are readily available in the theatres in Bellingham.  Movies have been much more accessible for the Deaf in the United States, but it had never occurred to me to head south for a night at the movies.
