DCS early learning applications 2024-2025
We are at capacity for Sept. 2023. if you would like to be added to our wait list, please Contact Janene Seabrook

Welcome to DCS Early Learning Program. We offer our Early Learning Program from 8-4 pm every day.  At DCS we support deaf, hard of hearing and hearing  children who are siblings (SODAs) or children of deaf parents (CODAs), to learn and grow
together.
We promote a bilingual program where children will be offered opportunities to develop competency in both ASL and English. Through routines and predictability, children learn to make connections and develop their communication skills. Children are valued for their ability to wonder, their curiosity, their resilience, their unique perspectives, and their capacity to play
and learn.
DCS Early Learning Program offers a play-based program that aligns with the BC Early Learning Framework. The key elements of our program include:
- ASL and English Bilingual model
- Structured, predictable routines
- Deaf Friendly, culturally appropriate, visually accessible setting
- Family Engagement and home visits by SLP and SLI staff

“Our task is to help children communicate with the world using all their potential, strengths and Languages and to overcome any obstacle presented by our culture.”
Loris Malaguzzi
